The HMAS Sydney Memorial is spectacular (particularly at dawn), the Museum is worth several hours and the beaches, the fishing and diving at the Abrolhos, the surfing, wind and kite surfing and the cafes and attractions are of an excellent good standard.
All this is only four and a half hours north of Perth on an excellent road. On the way you may decide to stop at the beautiful Swan Valley or the spectacular Pinnacles. And a short distance past Geraldton is the popular holiday destination of Kalbarri.
