Esperance truly is the great escape. Located just over 700kms southeast of Perth, on the Bay of Isles, Esperance is notably one of Western Australia’s treasures. Its Mediterranean climate and infamous coastline make this polite town a favourite for families and nature lovers.

Esperance’s most renowned feature is its magnificent beaches. The perfect coastline appears endless and is majestic to the eyes. Acclaimed for having the whitest beach in Australia; Lucky Bay’s luminescent sand acts as a stunning contrast to the turquoise water. Finding your niche on one of the pristine beaches is an easy task. All that’s left after that is to soak up the surrounding paradise.

Whilst strolling along the bays don’t be surprised to see a whale or two on the horizon. Southern Right whales can be spotted from the bays during the months of June though October. These mammoth, yet placid, creatures are known to frequent the sheltered coves in various skirting national parks.

For a change from the oceanic panorama why not visit Esperance’s Pink Lake. Pink Lake is aptly named, permitting a unique pink colour, and depending on the weather shades of purple. The reasoning behind such an extraordinary occurrence is less than miraculous, attributed to a high concentration of salt tolerant algae, but is beautiful none the less.

Why not stop over at Pink Lake whilst exploring The Great Ocean Drive. This spectacular tourist loop runs for 38kms; allowing for a scenic tour of local highlights along the coastline. Outstanding stop off locations include Pink Lake, the Wind Farm, Observatory Point, the Rotary Lookout, and Twilight Beach. Twilight Beach is a great location for those interested in surfing and surfing.

There are 5 national parks situated in and amongst Esperance. Each is unique, yet all share common elements, including the prestigious coastline, tranquil bushwalks, quality camping grounds, and the beautiful surrounding fauna and flora. Locate 48km from the centre of Esperance is The Cape Le Grand National Park. It is unique in a way that bedazzles visitors. Here you will often see kangaroos lazing on the bleached sandy beaches.

If you can’t bare the thought of putting your dog in a kennel whilst on holiday; Esperance is a great choice of location. Esperance is a very accommodating town when it comes to mans best friend. Much accommodation will allow dogs; there are far stretching walking tracks, and a few doggy beaches for those pooches who like to paddle.

Esperance is beyond doubt a destination where reality is left behind. Visitors are constantly amazed at its beauty. There are no traffic lights. There is only you and coastal bliss.
