Hyden is a small town of 109 located 349km south-east of Perth. Located in the wheatbelt it is home to the famous Wave Rock.

Hyden is the newest wheatbelt town. The railway didn’t arrive in Hyden until 1932; considerably long after the other Wheatbelt towns. Wave rock is a natural formation and a stunningly amazing site.

Hippos Yawn

This rock formation is named so because of the resemblance to a hippopotamus in its cavernous mouth. You can walk right into the Hippo's mouth and crawl out the passage resembling a throat.  more
