Margaret River

Mammoth Caves, Margaret River Chateau Xanadu, Margaret River

Located 3 hours south of Perth, Margaret River is a great weekend, or week long escape. Margaret River is renowned for its quality wines but there is plenty more to see and do in Margaret River than wineries. As far as wineries go, Margaret River is a "must see" destination.

There are literally hundreds of wineries in the region. Almost every road you drive along will come across a winery. Some of the better known wineries include Evans & Tate, Lamonts, Palandri, Watershed Wines and Leeuwin Estate. Margaret River Wines, are sold all over the world, and have been compared to the best that France has to offer.

The wineries are great but Margaret River is also home to a number of fantastic micro breweries for those beer connoisseurs. We recommend Bootleg Brewery (and their Raging Bull), Colonial Brewery and Bush Shack Brewery.

Margaret River's unique and relaxed lifestyle has attracted its fair share of artists and as a result there are a number of galleries and artisans.

Margaret River lies in a region known as Cave Country and the Caves of Margaret River are a sight to be seen. From the Jewel Caves to the Mammoth Caves, there is nothing uncaptured in these underground caverns.
