The Harold E Holt Naval Communications Station is Radio relay station passing messages between Australian and United States Command Centres, their respective ships, and submarines in the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean.

The 'Very Low Frequency' (VLF) antenna field, towers over the North-West Cape.

The centre tower, Tower Zero, standing at 388m high (taller then the Empire State Building in New York, USA) is one of the largest structures in the southern hemisphere.

Only non restricted areas are open to the public.
